Historic Residential homes
Many of the homes still standing and most of those lost, came from a time in history when a man's home was truely his castle and the appearance of the home reflected the status of it's residents. the introduction of the last chapter in my book, explains this.
I have discussed a lot of homes now lost and will use this section for more homes still standing. In the case of some of the homes, I have been able to trace the owner ship from the time built.
A unique piece of information about the houses includes the name of the original owner or builder. In some cases if you talk about the "Tracy" house, or "Staats" house for example, most locals know what house you are talking about.
